Designed in London and made at a small atelier in the Netherlands, this new range of leather aprons provides the ultimate workwear for an outdoor cook: strong, light, comfortable and far more stylish than a simple apron has any right to be.
Our apron is produced from richly coloured leather that won’t fade or scratch – in fact, their unique patina will improve over time. However hard you work it, a Big Green Egg Leather Apron will bounce back to its original lustre with a just a little care. Like an EGG, these are aprons that are built to last a lifetime, with a warranty to match.

Carefully sourced
The premium leather is made from the hides of ex-dairy cows sourced from the UK, Italy and northern Europe. When these cows are eventually butchered for their meat, hides that would otherwise go to waste are saved to make premium leather.
Low maintenance
The way the leather has been cured and treated by skilled tanners in the Dutch city of Waalwijk makes it highly resistant to cutting, staining and marking. All you need to keep it pristine is a soft cloth, lukewarm water and perhaps a little natural soap.
Valued by the pros
Soft, stylish and durable – this beautiful handmade knife roll is a must for all chefs, pitmasters and home cooks.
FAQs
Give it a wipe after use with clean damp cloth. If you’ve worked it particularly hard, use a natural soap and a sponge dipped in lukewarm water – ordinary shampoo will do the job perfectly. Always clean the entire surface rather than just spot-cleaning the dirty patches. Avoid hard chemicals like saddle soap, solvents, oils, furniture polishes, varnishes, abrasive cleaners, detergents or ammonia and never put your apron in a washing machine!
Once a month, treat the leather with a natural leather conditioner to keep it moist, supple, and protected. Give it a thorough clean using a cloth or sponge, gently apply the leather conditioner, leave for 15 minutes to soak in, then wipe off with a clean cloth.
Hang it on a hook to help maintain its natural shape and prevent any fold lines. If you need to transport it, rolling from bottom to top is much better than folding. If you do end up with creases, these will disappear with time, or you can gently iron the backside of the leather.
Always dry it naturally at room temperature. Don’t be tempted to speed things up by using a heat source.
