Simply slot it into your Big Green Egg to transform your barbecue into a convection oven]

Install the ConvEGGtor

Once your EGG is up to temperature, place the ConvEGGtor onto the Fire Ring. It can be installed with the legs either up or down, depending on the recipe. Most dishes call for the legs to be up; baking and pizza recipes will usually require legs down.

Bring the temperature back up

With the ConvEGGtor in place, you may notice an initial drop in temperature. That’s just because the ceramic plate is cold. Wait a few minutes and the temperature will come back up again.

Start cooking

It’s possible to cook directly on your ceramic ConvEGGtor, but remember that it gets super hot. We recommend that for breads, pizzas and pastries you add a Baking Stone to stop the bottom of your bake from burning. For other recipes, you may need to add a grid or another cooking surface above the ConvEGGtor.

Moving the ConvEGGtor

ConvEGGtors can be fiddly to get in and out, especially when hot. The Large and XL models are also quite heavy, so it’s worth investing in a ConvEGGtor basket, which makes lifting them much simpler. Our heat-resistant EGGmitts will also come in handy.

Cleaning your ConvEGGtor

Cooking debris is inevitable with the ConvEGGtor. It won’t affect your food at all but if you do want to clean it up, get your EGG nice and hot and give the ConvEGGtor a scrub with one of our Dual-Brush Scrubbers. Never wash with soapy water.
